Ministers of the gospel have been advised  to refrain from using the pulpit as a platform for propagating their political agenda. Promoting one political party over the other can be a recipe for despondency ,hatred ,disunity as well as chaos in  the church instead of harmony and there by retards it’s growth and accelerated development.

The admonishing was made by the Bishop of the Effiduase Diocese of  the Methodist church Right Reverend Kenneth Oteng Dapaah at the 26th synod of the Effiduase Dioceses of the Methodist church at Juaben in the Ashanti region.

Right Rev Dapaah was of the view that the church is made of different people with diverse views and beliefs as far as politics is concerned and that any attempt to use the platform or the pulpit of the church to promote one’s political inclination can cause serious disaffection for the church.

According to him, Men of God can speak against the wrongs of politicians but this he said must be done devoid of biases.

Later in an interview with the media Rev Dapaah spoke against the practice of LGBTQ saying it is biblically and cultural ly wrong and so the need to nip it in the bud.

He however stated some major achievements the church has chalked under his tenure as a diocesan bishop this includes planting of about 20 churches spiritual renewal as well as acquiring a land for putting up a retreat center of which there would soon be a sod cutting ceremony
for the commencement of the project.

Meanwhile some individual members of the church who have contributed immensely to the development of the church have been awarded.

One of such personalities is Nana Dr Appiagyei Dankanwoso the chief linguist of the Juaben traditional council, alongside Nana Otuo Serebuo,Juabenmanhene and Chairman of Council of State.
