In response to the growing number of attacks on mobile money (MoMo) vendors , the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has convened an emergency meeting to address the issue.
The council has implemented a four-pronged approach to ensure the safety and security of MoMo vendors and the general public.
At the meeting a bounty has been placed for anyone providing credible information leading to the arrest of suspects involved in the attacks.
Again, security forces will be redeployed to increase police presence and ensure public safety.
According to the REGSECMoMo vendors will undergo a safety workshop to educate them on precautionary measures for their business, empowering them to take proactive steps to protect themselves.
Law enforcement will intensify efforts to clamp down on the use of unregistered motorcycles, which are often used in these attacks.
These measures demonstrate the Regional Security Council’s commitment to addressing the rising attacks on MoMo vendors and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. By working together, we can create a safer and more secure environment for everyone.
