The founder of Advocates for Anti Galamsey and Environmental Degradation,Mr.Isaac Kobena Ochem  is appealing to His Excellency the President of the Republic , Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo not to hesitate to sack Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCE) whose jurisdictions are still witnessing illegal mining activities ( Galamsey) .
According to him, the majority of the illegal miners are working for the MMDCEs and some New Patriotic Party executives who also own these illegal miners which are making it very difficult for the military task force team to clamp down on them.
It is very clear that, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources with its sector minister, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor is doing the best he could to adopt all strategies to fight the illegal mining menace but some of  the MMDCEs Under the Nana Addo led government together with some NPP  gurus who are deeply involved in the act are making the work of the sector minister  very difficult.
Even though the ‘galamsey’task force team has chalked a lot of successes through the arrest of some  illegal miners and to the extent of burning  their excavators and Chanfan machines but the activities are still ongoing and the ordinary Ghanaian taxpayer’s money is being wasted, all in the name of fighting galamsey , because the government spends money in the fight.
Ochem , further noted,as an Anti- Galamsey Advocate and a  Campaigner, he  can clearly see that government do not have the Political Will to fight the Galamsey menace because of the key involvement of some NPP functionaries and MMDCEs.
“I am by this appealing and begging President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo not to hesitate to Sack MMDCEs who are deeply involved in illegal mining activities to serve as a deterrent to others.
