The Anglican Diocese of Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region, has climaxed its 20th Anniversary, celebrated on the theme: “Proclaiming the Good News of God by Grace through Faith (2King’s 7:9.”
The Right Reverend Kwame Kyem-Ampomah, the Bishop of the Diocese, delivering a sermon during the climax at Sefwi Wiawso, advised the congregants to have faith, trust and serve God in diligence and not allow themselves to be influenced by worldly pleasures.
He tasked them, particularly the youth, to read more scriptures to know Christ so that they would be able to stand against temptation in this Christian lives.
Mr. Sampson Ahi, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sefwi Bodi Constituency, who chaired the occasion, expressed gratitude to the Anglican Diocese of Sefwi Wiawso for its tremendous contributions towards the development of the country.
He indicated that the government recognised their impactful role of the church in the areas of education, health, and agriculture, among others sectors.
The MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, a member of the Diocese, supported the church with an undisclosed amount.
He also pledged to sponsor one member to attend Bible School in the Wiawso Diocese.
As part of the week long anniversary celebration, the Diocese organised a series of activities like health screening, Maths and Science quiz competitions, singing and Bible quiz competition, and football Gala among others.
The Diocese also donated medical equipment to the Sefwi Anhwiaso Health Centre to help boost healthcare delivery in the area.
