Atwima Kwanwoma NDC chairmanship aspirant, Captain (Rtd.) Reuben Solomon Jabari, has commenced the first phase of his ‘Fund Me Go’ loan initiative, promising to provide financial support and economic opportunities for grassroots members of the party in the constituency.

The initiative, which is already attracting considerable attention among NDC members, will enable eligible party members to access loans ranging from GH¢2,000 to GH¢20,000 under flexible repayment arrangements.

The first batch of beneficiaries, drawn from the Saviour, Adumasa and Afratia Electoral Areas, began processing their applications on Wednesday with officials from Utrak Savings and Loans.
Successful applicants are expected to receive their selected loan amounts after completing the required processes.
Captain Jabari, who is seeking to become the next NDC Constituency Chairman for Atwima Kwanwoma, said the initiative was designed to translate his commitment to grassroots development into tangible economic opportunities for party members.
600 PRAGIA, ABOBOYAA VEHICLES
Beyond the loan scheme, Captain Jabari has also announced plans to facilitate loans for more than 600 Pragia and Aboboyaa vehicles for NDC members across the constituency.
According to him, the vehicle financing component is intended to create sustainable income-generating opportunities for party members while helping improve their economic circumstances.
He said the programme would be rolled out progressively to other electoral areas, stressing that the initiative was not limited to a particular group of party members.
The initiative is therefore expected to become a major component of his campaign for the constituency chairmanship as the internal NDC contest gathers momentum.
‘LET THE GRASSROOTS BENEFIT’
Captain Jabari said his motivation for introducing the programme stemmed from the sacrifices made by ordinary party members who had consistently worked to strengthen the NDC and secure electoral victories.
He argued that grassroots members deserved to experience tangible benefits from their commitment and loyalty to the party.
According to him, political leadership should not be limited to making promises during election periods but must involve practical interventions capable of improving the livelihoods of party members.
He urged beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly by investing in productive ventures that could generate income and improve the welfare of their families.
Captain Jabari further appealed to delegates to support his chairmanship bid, saying his years of service, accessibility, loyalty and commitment to the party had prepared him adequately for the position.
He said his leadership would prioritise grassroots empowerment and the creation of a stronger and more vibrant constituency organisation capable of improving the NDC’s electoral fortunes ahead of the 2028 general elections.
BENEFICIARIES HAPPY
The first beneficiaries of the initiative have expressed excitement over the intervention, describing it as a significant development for grassroots members.
Faustina Adoma, a beneficiary from the Adumasa Polling Station, described the initiative as unprecedented in the political history of Atwima Kwanwoma and, in her view, the Ashanti Region.
She pledged to use the facility responsibly and expressed appreciation to Captain Jabari for what she described as his concern for the welfare of ordinary party members.
“God bless Solomon Jabari bountifully. He is a man who cares about the welfare of people and therefore deserves to lead our party in this constituency,” she said.
‘A LIFELINE FOR MEMBERS’
The NDC Coordinator at Twedie, Arthur Okyere Junior, also welcomed the initiative, describing it as a potential lifeline for party members experiencing economic difficulties.
He said many grassroots members had sacrificed their time and resources for the growth of the party but had often struggled to access meaningful economic opportunities.
Mr Okyere said the intervention could help address some of those concerns by giving members access to capital to establish or expand income-generating activities.
He described the programme as something the constituency had “not experienced before.”
JABARI’S GRASSROOTS MESSAGE
With the first batch of applicants now undergoing loan processing and plans underway to extend the initiative to other electoral areas, Captain Jabari is positioning the ‘Fund Me Go’ programme as a key pillar of his campaign for the Atwima Kwanwoma NDC chairmanship.

The initiative, according to his campaign message, is anchored on the belief that political leadership must go beyond mobilisation for elections to include practical measures that improve the economic wellbeing of party members.

His proposed vehicle financing programme for more than 600 Pragia and Aboboyaa operators is also expected to form part of the broader economic empowerment agenda.

As the chairmanship contest intensifies, the rollout of the loan initiative is likely to remain a major talking point among delegates and grassroots members, particularly as candidates seek to demonstrate their capacity to provide practical leadership and support to the party’s base.
