St. Louis Senior High School in the Ashanti Region has commemorated its 25th Anniversary Celebration and Speech and Prize-Giving Day in a colourful ceremony that showcased the institution’s proud legacy of academic excellence, discipline, and holistic student development.

The milestone event brought together the school’s leadership, alumnae, students, staff, and a host of distinguished guests, reflecting the strong community spirit and admiration the school continues to enjoy after a quarter-century of impactful service to education in the region.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, described it as a privilege to join the St. Louis SHS family on such an important occasion, noting that the celebration was not only a reflection of the school’s achievements but also a renewed call to invest in the future of Ghana’s youth through quality education.

“This programme highlighted excellence, discipline, and the proud legacy of the school,” Dr. Amoakohene stated, commending the institution for its remarkable contributions to secondary education in the Ashanti Region.

The anniversary celebration was graced by several prominent personalities, including the Honourable Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and Member of Parliament; the Honourable Patricia Appiagyei, Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament; Mr. Albert Dwomfour, President of the Ghana Journalists Association; and Mr. Johnny Osei Kofi, former Deputy Chief of Staff. Other distinguished guests from various sectors were also present to support the school.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Amoakohene reaffirmed the Government’s strong commitment to education and youth development, particularly across the Ashanti Region.

Speaking on behalf of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, he assured the school community that education remains a central pillar of national development.

“As a government, we remain resolute in partnering with schools to strengthen infrastructure, promote academic excellence, and equip our young people with the opportunities they deserve,” he said.

A key highlight of the occasion was the announcement of ongoing infrastructure support for the school through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

Dr. Amoakohene revealed that St. Louis Senior High School is currently benefiting from the construction of a modern two-storey, 12-unit classroom block, aimed at expanding instructional space, improving the learning environment, and accommodating the school’s growing enrolment.

The project forms part of broader efforts to enhance educational infrastructure across the region and ensure that students have access to conducive learning facilities that match modern academic standards.

The anniversary celebration also featured prize presentations to outstanding students, cultural displays, and speeches that reflected on the school’s journey over the past 25 years.

Stakeholders praised the dedication of teachers, the resilience of students, and the unwavering support of alumnae and parents in shaping the school’s success story.

Dr. Amoakohene concluded with a call for continued collaboration between government, educational institutions, and communities to sustain progress in the sector.

“Together, we will continue to invest in education and build a stronger future for our Region and our nation,” he emphasized.

As St. Louis Senior High School celebrates its silver jubilee, the institution stands as a beacon of academic excellence and discipline, poised to achieve even greater heights in the years ahead.
