Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland, His Excellency Papa Owusu-Ankomah, says Ghana will retrogress if a transformational leader is not elected in December 2024 presidential election to rule the country.
According to him, the country is currently in a transitional stage and requires a leader who can implement policies to compete with the modernisational governance in the developed countries.
He described Dr Bawumia as a leader who holds the key to Ghana’s development and advancement
His Excellency Papa Owusu-Ankomah, made these known during the inauguration of the UK branch of Friends of Bawumia (FOB), a pro- volunteer group, in London.
He expressed worry at some attitudes such as backbitting and undermining, infiltrating into the ruling party.
Such acts, according to him, have the tendency to sow a seed of disunity and acrimony within the ranks and file of the party.
The High Commissioner believed that the party can only “break the 8” if measures are put in place to unite the members of party adding since a single vote counts, aĺl supporters of the aspirants who contested Dr Bawumia in the presidential race should be brought on board.
His Excellency the High Commissioner disclosed that leaders of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) should continue to remain selfless and sacrifice their resources toward retaining power in this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections.
The High Commissioner also commended the leadership of the newly inaugurated branch of Friends of Bawumia (FOB) in the UK, and urged them to embrace all including supporters of the presidential aspirants who contested Dr Bawumia in the presidential race.
On his part, Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), National Organiser of the party, revealed that Nana Addo’s administration has incredibly performed in all sectors of Ghana’s economy.
According to him the NPP Government despite the negative effects of Covid 19 and Ukraine war, has been able to construct many factories than any other government in the history of Ghana.
He disclosed that government will commission 40 newly constructed hospitals under the Agenda 111 to facilitate healthcare delivery in the country, adding no government has set such an unprecedented record.
According to him, Former President John Dramani Mahama, failed to complete the Kumawu Government Hospital which was initiated by Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, but such a beautiful edifice has now been completed under Nana Addo administration.
The National Organiser revealed that plans are far advanced for the establishment of University of Sports Development to promote sporting activities in the country.
He described Former President Mahama as a disgrace to Ghana for rubbishing the All African Games, which was hosted in the country. He said it is a shame the Former President has to date failed to congratulate the participants for their enviable achieivements
In his inaugural address, Dr Eric Adjei Yeboah, the UK Coordinator for Friends of Bawumia (FOB UK), described Dr Bawumia as an epitome of a 21st century leader, and therefore the group is committed to support him to win the presidential election.
He expressed the readiness of the group to mobilise both financial and material resources to support the campaign to elect Dr Bawumia as the next President of Ghana.
Dr Adjei Yeboah therefore called on Ghanaians to vote massively for Dr Bawumia in the 2024 presidential election.
