The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, recently had the honor of receiving the Registrar of Companies of the Republic of Ghana, Maame Samma Peprah, Esq., along with her regional team. The meeting was a significant step towards promoting business registration and economic growth in the region.

During the meeting, Dr. Amoakohene commended the Registrar and her team for their dedication and the significant strides being made in formalizing businesses across the country. He acknowledged the crucial role that the Registrar’s office plays in promoting enterprise and job creation, and expressed appreciation for their tireless efforts.

The Minister encouraged the team to intensify their efforts towards decentralization, with a focus on covering all assemblies in the region. This, he noted, would help to increase access to business registration services and promote economic growth in rural areas. Dr. Amoakohene emphasized the importance of making business registration more accessible and user-friendly, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The meeting also discussed the issue of middlemen, who often hinder the business registration process. Dr. Amoakohene and the Registrar agreed on the need to eliminate these intermediaries and make available adequate avenues to encourage business registration across the region. The Minister emphasized that this would help to reduce bureaucracy and promote a more business-friendly environment.

As Regional Minister, Dr. Amoakohene assured the Registrar and her team of his unwavering support, as well as that of H.E. the President, in strengthening systems that promote enterprise, job creation, and economic growth.

He emphasized that the government is committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, and that the Registrar’s office plays a critical role in this endeavor.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting business registration and economic growth in the Ashanti Region. Dr. Amoakohene and the Registrar agreed to work closely together to address the challenges facing businesses in the region and to identify opportunities for growth and development.

With the support of the government and the Registrar’s office, businesses in the Ashanti Region are poised to thrive, contributing to the region’s economic growth and development.
