The Chief Executive Officer for Suame Municipal, Dr John Osei Bobbie-Boahin, has asked party members who desire to contest the Member of Parliament for Suame to bury their decision.

According to him, such persons should not even attempt to contest the Majority Leader since such avenue will never avail them.

Addressing Suame Constituency Executives and Electoral Area Coordinators in Kumasi at an end-of-year dinner, Dr Bobbie-Boahin, disclosed that Hon Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu plays crucial role in parliament and government.

This, he said, calls for a shield over his seat to prevent others from contesting him, adding the Majority Leader must go unopposed.

According to him, the party will never allow persons to even contest him since he has been tested and proven to be an experienced law maker, whose is capable of nurturing young MPs.

Dr Bobbie described the Majority Leader as a defensive pillar in Ghana’s parliament and in his absence, the minority will take advantage to sabotage government’s policies.

He disclosed that the Majority Leader, when allowed to be contested, will win such primaries but according to him, such contest will be a waste of time and resources.

According to him, currently no aspirant can unseat Hon Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu in the Suame Constituency, describing any potential person as weightless.

The MCE disclosed that both constituency executives and the Electoral Area Coordinators have already declared him unopposed therefore polling station executives, patrons and council of elders should emulate such recommendable step.

” We are very fortunate that all the 17 constituency executives and nine electoral area coordinators have agreed under no duress for Hon Kyei-Mensah Bonsu to go unopposed.” Dr Bobbie-Boahin said.

The MCE noted that both National and Regional Executives were ready to declare the Majority Leader unopposed but were patiently soliciting the views of the constituency executives and electoral area coordinators.

Dr Bobbie-Boahin therefore called on the National Executives of the ruling party to liaise with the regional executives to declare the Majority Leader unopposed.

On his part, Mr Bright Osei Agyemang, Suame Constituency Chairman, confirmed that the Constituency Executive Committee (CEC) has earlier informed the regional executives of the party to declare the Majority Leader unopposed for another term in parliament.
