Nana Akwasi Denkyi Agyekum, the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Subin Constituency in the Ashanti Region, is set to host over 1,000 orphans in his constituency ,feed them and to provide joy to them on the Christmas day.
The program is scheduled for 26th December,2023.
The annual programme initiated some years back, has mostly involved the elderly and children in his jurisdiction, especially orphans .
In an interview with broadcastergh.com ,Nana Akwasi Denkyi Agyekum said children in society were not left out of the programme and that, there were plans to help more of them in his area.
The workaholic politician who is poised to annex the Subin seat for the NDC in the 2024 Elections has children and the aged at heart hence this gargantuan merry making on December,26th.
He however pledged to bring more development to the area through sports,education, and infrastructure projects, citing initiatives such as the construction of astroturf among others to help reshape the face of Subin Constituency is voted for as the next Member of Parliament for the area in election 2024.
He then advised children in the society to take their education seriously and avoid all types of social deviance in society.
He also urged parents to train their children properly to produce more literate and patriotic citizens in the Country.
Background
The Subin parliamentary seat has been occupied by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) since January 1997.
But, Nana Akwasi Denkyi Agyekum has stated that, his ambition to contest the seat was to win the Subin Constituency for the NDC, come 2024.
According to him, the constituents deserved better from the votes they cast every four years, hence, his decision to help the electorate enjoy their fair share of the national cake as Ghanaians.
Outlining his vision for the constituents , the aspirant noted that his agenda was to alleviate their plight and bring about development, and to ensure that the talents of the youths in the constituency were harnessed for total development.
According to him, the only time the electorate was engaged in an encounter with the politicians, especially their legislator, was during elections, which, he said, should not be the case, and assured that he would change the trend by engaging the constituents, especially the youth, from time to time to enable him address their basic needs.
He stressed that, there were many youth with football talents in the constituency, and for that matter, he is going to embark on one Astro Turf in the area to help the youth identify their talents in that area.
Nana Denkyi Agyekum disclosed that he would soon engage the constituents to provide them interest-free loans through the Women’s Organisers, and also initiate car loans to individuals.
He urged the Ashanti Region to be proud of the National Democratic Congress for bringing monumental infrastructural development to the region, and entreated the party fraternity to always remain united towards the upcoming 2024 parliamentary and presidential elections
