Take advantage of  Kumawu Technology Solution Center – DCE urges

The District Chief Executive of Sekyere-Kumawu, Hon Samuel Addai Agyekum, as part of efforts to encourage technical and skills training in the district, has called on the general public to take advantage of the Technology Solution Center loacted at Kumawu.

He made this remark when he visited the center at Temate, a suburb in Sekyere-Kumawu District with ‘Nananom’ and a delegation from the Kumasi Technical University.

The District is partnering the University to provide extra technical knowledge and tuition to ensure that the facility competently serve it purpose. Also, plans have been considered to transform the facility into a satellite campus of the Kumasi Technical University.

The Technology Solution Center has modern technological machines to solve automobile, woodwork and agricultural challenges. It is a standard factory with every needed machine and equipment to function better.

In an interview with media, the DCE stated that the technology solution center has been captured among schools for BECE candidates to select from. He mentioned the facility has 23 different assembling plants which will initially provide 103 direct with hundreds of countless indirect jobs.

He further reiterated that the center will serve as a school to provide the best of theoritical and practical training in agriculture, woodwork and modern day operation of industrial machines, hence the general public is encouraged to take advantage of it.

Speaking to the manager at the facility, Andrew Abuska, he emphasized the center is ready to accommodate students who are ready and technically inclined for a secured future.

The leader of delegation from the Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Smart Sarpong explained the partnership with the district is a good initiative which will provide technical advice and experiences to the engineers and trainees.

He further admonished government to prioritize technical, vocational education and training(TVET) to accelerate the country’s development. He maintained the world is currently advancing towards skills and technology hence the need to tune ourselves.
