Residents of Wassa Adansi in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipality in the Western Region are in shock following reports that a young man allegedly killed his mother in the community.
According to local sources, the suspect, identified by residents as Yaw Brako, popularly known as “2Cedis,” is alleged to have attacked his mother in the early hours of the day. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
Eyewitnesses say the community was thrown into confusion after news of the incident spread rapidly, drawing crowds to the scene.
Police have since taken the suspect into custody to assist with investigations. The body of the deceased has been deposited for preservation and further examination.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue.
