2025PresidentCup: Greater Accra Minister, MCEs urge Hearts of Oak to beat Kotoko, pledge hefty cash reward per goal

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ocloo, together with the Mayor of Accra and a delegation of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (#MMDCEs) in Greater Accra, has promised a cash reward of $1,500 and £400 for every goal scored by players of Accra Hearts of Oak in the much-anticipated 2025 President’s Cup clash against rivals Asante Kotoko come Sunday.

The Regional Minister and the MCEs, who pledged during a visit to the team’s training camp on Friday to boost morale, also made a cash donation of GH20,000 to the team to encourage them and give them moral support to win the game on Sunday.

She assured Ghanaians that the region’s entire security apparatus would be deployed to ensure a peaceful and well-organised match.

‘‘I want to assure Ghanaians that, security-wise, we are fully prepared. The entire security apparatus will be deployed on Sunday to make sure that everything is in order and that fans can enjoy the match safely,’’ she said.

She told the team they believed in them and were counting on them to make the region proud.”

Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, described the match as “dear to their hearts,” urging the players to seize the opportunity to make history, adding that he would not eat before the match and planned to “wear the number 10 jersey” as a sign of solidarity.
