The Majority Leader, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, has been commended for commencing construction of roads in the Constituency.
The construction works, which was awarded to Kofi Job Construction Company began at Abusuakruwa Electoral Area. Speaking to pressmen at Bremang in Kumasi, the Second Vice Chairman for SUAME Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Richard Asante, was grateful to the MP for honouring his promise to const the roads this year. According to Mr Asante, residents at Bremang Central expressed appreciation to the MP when they spotted the contractor and his equipment in the area, adding Bremang township roads will be asphalted.
Areas, where works started on Saturday, Mr Asante, said include Bremang Junction, Breman Fie and Bremang cemetery near the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. “Works started this morning through Bremang Fie and expected to be completed within some days ‘ Mr Asante said. According to him, after completion of Bremang Central roads, the Contractor will tackle Maakro , Tarkwa/Anomangye and Suame Electoral Areas.
The Vice Chairman disclosed that about 70 percent of roads in the Suame Constituency will be asphalted. ” Currently we have nine electoral areas in the Constituency and every area will witness asphalt overlay ‘ Mr Asante said. According to Mr Asante, areas, which will be untouched after completion of the construction works, will be tacked by the Suame Municipal Assembly (SMA). Mr Asante disclosed that the major problem in the Constituency is the deplorable nature of the roads, which has over the years, paved way for residents to cast insults on the MP, adding such insults will be over after Construction of the roads. “The era of insults against Hon Kyei Mensah-Bonsu is over since the bad roads which called for the insults are being constructed” The Vice Chairman said. According to Mr Asante, aspirants who wish to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries with Hon Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu should rescind their decisions since they will have no campaign message. “During the last primaries, the poor nature of our roads became major campaign messages for the three candidates who contested the parliamentary seat with Hon Kyei Mensah-Bonsu.
