Practicing lawyer of Lumumba advocates and the coordinator of the aegis of the Lumumba Foundation,Prof. PLO Lumumba has stated that serving as a good leader depends on how well one serves and not the longevity aspect of it.

He added that good leaders  emulate good governance in a short period of time and that the late President John Evans Atta Mills was an example.

Speaking at the tenth anniversary
commemorative lecture of the late John Evans Atta Mills at KNUST campus, Professor PLO Lumumba reiterated that it doesn’t matter how long a president will serve a country but rather it is the quality of the service it renders to the country that matters.

He acknowledged the fact that, the late former President was the king of peace and served the interests of the Country and of the people.

As Africa is battling with corruption and bad governance, he stands as an advocate to lecture to put an end.

He stated that there is a need for Ghanaians and Africa as a whole to learn from the late Prof. John Atta Mills as he was a great man of intellect who combined academic excellence and political excellence to run a country and left great achievement which are worthy of commemorating.

According to him the building of a cathedral to help in the development of Ghana is not relevant as it only plumbs the nation into disaster.

This was made in reference to the cathedral being built my the current head of state, Nana Akuffo Addo. In hi opinion, the building of the cathedral is only a root for corrupt practices in the country

He finally added that it takes a corrupt free and united country to develop and hence Ghanaians must emulate the steps of the late President to achieve success.
