Assembly member for Akyeremade Kwanwoma and Behenase electoral area in Atwima Kwanwoma District of Ashanti Region,Hon Justice Baffour Awuah widely known as (Hon Bompin) lost his items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to a fire outbreak in his newly located house at Akyeremade after he returned from a funeral on Sunday 13th August 2023 in the evening.
The sad incident happened at Akyeremade near Talk Star Hotel at about 11:45pm.
Explaining to the media,the victim, Baffour Awuah,an Assemblyman of the afformentíoned electoral area who doubles as a renowned Kumasi based Ezra TV/FM Journalist said his goods and items in his room including building materials were completely destroyed by the fire.
The victim added he was in the sleeping room asleep after he returned home from the funeral and other meetings when his wife detected serious fire outbreak in the house.
Hon Baffour Awuah quickly rushed outside after he was notified but unfortunately for him, all efforts assistance from neighbours could not salvage the situation.
He indicated his building materials,Dressing wears, utensils, and other valuable items had been destroyed by fire.
The Atwima Kwanwoma district fire service officer,Mr John Kofi Minta together with the Ashanti regional fire team later intervened to quench the inferno but the assistant of Talk Star Hotel supported with their fire extinguisher to calm down the unfortunate situation.
John Minta, the district fire Officer, said preliminary investigations will be conduct to confirm the cause or genesis of the fire.
