Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie, also known as Saint Sark, the General Overseer and Head Pastor of Open Arms Ministry has said the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama is the presidential candidate every right thinking Ghanaian must vote for in the upcoming December general election.
Saint Sark is the latest of the clergy to have openly called on Ghanaians especially the christian population to massively vote for the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr. Mahama in the December polls.
Last week, a group of clergy in Accra prayed for the former President and the flagbearer of the NDC to win the presidential polls on December 7.
Saint Sark, at a press conference in Kumasi last Monday said the standard norm which has become the arrangement in all jurisdictions, is that the leader of a country is chosen from the religion that forms the majority of the population in that particular country.
He said Ghana is predominantly a christian county with over 70 percent majority against less than 30 percent in Islam and other religions and must therefore choose former President Mahama who is a christian.
Citing several countries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, Saint Sark explained that it is nature and divine arrangement which has become the roadmap that the leader of a country should be elected from the majority’s religion of the country and there is nothing one can do about it.
He said even in most of the Islamic states, christianity is not tolerated and within Islam itself where there are sects, the leader of the country is always chosen from the sect which members are in the majority, emphasizing that nobody should misconstrue him to be against Islam and Moslems.
He said there are arrangements as roadmap which the NPP and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia refused to follow before the party’s flagbearer contest which would have made it easier for the party to win the 2024 general elections and thus break the 8 and concluded that there was a paradigm shift in the spiritual realm as the party and its leadership have been cursed.
