The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Oforikrom, Hon. Answel Sadat Ahmed, has joined a high-level delegation on a working visit to the Bern Water Treatment Plant in Switzerland as part of efforts to explore innovative water management solutions for Ghana.
The delegation was led by Ghana’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Prof. Esi Awuah, and included the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Deputy Ambassador Franklin HOC, ATO officials and other stakeholders.
The visit provided the delegation with firsthand insight into the operations of the state-of-the-art water treatment facility, renowned for its efficient and sustainable water purification systems.
Hon. Answel Sadat Ahmed noted that lessons from the facility could inform ongoing efforts to improve water supply and sanitation services in the Oforikrom Municipality and other parts of Ghana.
The delegation engaged management of the plant on best practices in water treatment, infrastructure development, and environmental sustainability, with discussions centred on potential areas of collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The visit forms part of broader initiatives aimed at strengthening international partnerships and leveraging global expertise to address Ghana’s growing water and sanitation needs.
