As part of its annual global cybersecurity awareness campaign, MTN Ghana’s Northern Business District hosted a staff forum on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at its Regional Office in Kaase.

The forum focused on increasing awareness of rising cyber threats and equipping staff with practical tools and best practices to stay safe online—both personally and professionally. Discussions covered a range of topics, including social engineering tactics, data protection, online scams, and the importance of responsible digital behavior.

The event featured a panel discussion led by:

Adwoa Afrakoma Baah Obeng, Senior Manager, Retail Experience – Northern Business District

Jackline Hanson Kotei, Senior Manager, Enterprise Information Security and Governance – MTN Ghana

Simon Amoh, Senior Manager – Northern Business District

Held under the theme “Securing Our Digital Future”, the forum formed part of MTN’s broader effort to build internal cybersecurity culture and strengthen resilience across its workforce.

Speaking to journalists after the event, Jackline Hanson Kotei emphasized the relevance of the initiative in today’s digital age, where people spend more time online for both work and personal activities.

> “Cybersecurity is no longer optional—it’s essential,” she stated. “As cybercrime increases, we must take proactive steps to protect our digital lives and ensure our teams are equipped to identify and respond to threats.”

Kotei also noted that the forum is just one of several efforts by MTN Ghana to mitigate the growing threat of cybercrime. She highlighted ongoing outreach initiatives, including cybersecurity awareness campaigns in senior high schools across rural and urban areas. These programs aim to educate young people about the risks of the digital world and the long-term implications of their online footprints.

She concluded by encouraging all staff—and the public at large—to stay vigilant, practice safe digital habits, and act as ambassadors of cybersecurity within their circles.
