The Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of Hon George Anane Coleman, is facing significant challenges that hinder its ability to effectively serve the community.

In an interview on “Onua Ma’kye” on Onua TV, hosted by Captain Smart, monitored by The Punch newspaper,MCE Coleman highlighted several key issues affecting the assembly’s operations and development initiatives.

One of the major challenges facing the assembly is the absence of an official vehicle, a situation that has persisted since 2018.

According to MCE Coleman, the lack of a vehicle is not only an operational inconvenience but also poses safety risks in the municipality.

Despite this challenge, he praised his staff for their dedication and hard work in ensuring the assembly’s functions continue uninterrupted.

Sanitation remains another significant challenge in the municipality.

MCE Coleman attributed the issue to rapid population growth, which has put a strain on the assembly’s resources and infrastructure.

To address this, the assembly has been organizing regular clean-up exercises and sensitizing the public on the importance of maintaining a clean environment.

The municipality is also grappling with frequent electricity transformer outages due to excessive pressure on the system.

Community like Babiaraneha has been particularly affected, experiencing frequent power outages. MCE Coleman expressed his concern over the situation and urged the government to intervene.

Despite these challenges, MCE Coleman remains optimistic about the municipality’s potential for growth and development.

He highlighted Dunkwa’s status as a hub for agriculture and invited investors to take advantage of the opportunities available in the area.

According to him, investing in agriculture could boost the local economy and create jobs for the youth.

Under MCE Coleman’s leadership, the assembly has made progress in clearing filth and improving sanitation in the area. The MCE’s commitment to his duties and his proactive approach to addressing challenges have been instrumental in driving these initiatives.

As the assembly continues to navigate these challenges, it is hoped that the government will provide the necessary support to enable the Upper Denkyira East Assembly to effectively serve its constituents and unlock the potential of the municipality .
