Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Oforikrom in the Ashanti Region , has launched Phase 2 of the street lighting project, aimed at increasing visibility and enhancing security in the municipality.
The project, which spans from Aboabo Custom Office to Anloga Junction and extends to Asokwa Boundary, is expected to illuminate the area and promote a safer environment for residents and businesses.
The MCE stated that the initiative is part of the assembly’s efforts to ensure security and beautification of the municipality.
“We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for our residents, and this project is a significant step towards achieving that goal,” Hon. Ahmed said.
Phase 2 of the project will see the installation of additional streetlights along the specified route, improving visibility and reducing dark spots that could pose security risks.
The MCE expressed confidence that the project would not only enhance security but also contribute to the overall beautification of the area, making it more attractive to investors and visitors.
Residents of the area have welcomed the initiative, citing the importance of adequate lighting in preventing crime and promoting economic activity. “This project is long overdue. We are grateful to the MCE and the assembly for listening to our concerns and taking action,” said a local resident.
