A major pipe burst on the main distribution line around the Police Depot in Patasi, Ashanti Region, has disrupted water supply to several areas, including Santasi, Kokoben, Atonsu, and Gyinyaase, since yesterday, December 26, 2025.
The Ghana Water Limited (GWL) distribution team is working around the clock to repair the damage and restore normal water flow this morning, December 27, 2025.
The Ashanti Regional Office of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates to stakeholders as more information becomes available. This incident comes after a recent blast at the Barekese Water Treatment Plant, which also affected water supply in the region .
GWL has assured customers that efforts are underway to stabilize the system and improve flows to affected communities. The company is urging customers to conserve water and report any leakages or burst mains to their call centers.
