A fire that engulfed several makeshift commercial and residential structures near SoccerBet at Tudu in Accra has been brought under control, authorities have confirmed.

The blaze, which broke out earlier on Wednesday, prompted a rapid response from the Ghana National Fire Service, with four fire engines dispatched from the Accra City, Ministries, Industrial Area fire stations and the Service’s National Headquarters to tackle the inferno.

Firefighters battled the flames for several hours, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures. Officials say no injuries were reported.

Following containment, personnel are conducting overhauling operations to extinguish lingering hotspots and fully secure the area.

The Ghana National Fire Service described the incident as an early warning of an anticipated active fire season in 2026, urging the public to remain vigilant and strictly observe fire safety protocols.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, and further updates are expected.
