Ghana’s Chief of Staff, Hon Julius Debrah, on Saturday paid a solemn visit to Kumasi to commiserate with renowned man of God, Rev. Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, popularly known as Opambour, following the passing of his beloved sister, Nana Alberta Osei.

The Chief of Staff joined family members, clergy, sympathizers, and hundreds of mourners at the final funeral rites held at the Bantama AstroTurf. The event drew a large gathering of church members, traditional leaders, political figures, and residents who came to show solidarity with the founder and leader of the Ebenezer Miracle and Worship Center.

Nana Alberta Osei, who passed away sometime last year after a period of illness, was finally laid to rest in a ceremony marked by deep emotion, tributes, and prayers. Family members described her as a compassionate and humble woman who played a significant role in supporting both her family and the ministry of her brother.

Mr. Debrah’s presence at the funeral underscored the government’s recognition of the influential role Rev. Yiadom plays in Ghana’s religious community. Upon arrival, the Chief of Staff greeted the bereaved family and expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the government and people of Ghana.

Speaking briefly with the family and members of the clergy, Mr. Debrah urged Rev. Yiadom to remain strong during this difficult period, reminding him that the loss of a loved one, though painful, is a part of life that must be met with faith and courage.

“We share in your grief during this difficult moment. Losing a sister is never easy, but we pray that God grants you and the entire family the strength and comfort needed to bear this loss,” he said.

Rev. Yiadom, visibly touched by the visit, expressed gratitude to the Chief of Staff and the numerous sympathizers who had gathered to support him and his family. He noted that the overwhelming show of love and solidarity had strengthened his resolve to continue serving God and humanity.

Throughout the funeral ceremony, emotional tributes were delivered by relatives and close friends who recounted Nana Alberta Osei’s kindness, generosity, and dedication to family values. Several speakers highlighted her unwavering support for her brother’s ministry and her strong faith.

The atmosphere at the Bantama AstroTurf was a blend of sorrow and celebration of life, as mourners clad in black and red paid their last respects. Church choirs performed solemn hymns while prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of the departed soul.

Many attendees described Nana Alberta Osei as a pillar within her family and community whose legacy of humility and compassion would remain etched in the hearts of those who knew her.

The funeral rites, which began earlier in the day, are expected to continue with thanksgiving and family gatherings later in the evening.

The presence of high-profile personalities, including the Chief of Staff, reflected the deep respect and influence Rev. Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom commands within both religious and public circles in Ghana. As the ceremony continues, sympathizers from across the country are expected to troop in to offer their condolences and celebrate the life of Nana Alberta Osei.
