The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has released a total of GH¢580.98 million to pay pensions to 250,327 pensioners across the country for the month of August.
The payment forms part of the Trust’s commitment to ensuring that pensioners receive their monthly benefits promptly to enable them to meet their financial obligations and other essential needs.
In a message to pensioners, SSNIT confirmed that the August pensions had been paid and urged beneficiaries to check their bank accounts to confirm receipt.
“Dear SSNIT Pensioner, August pensions have been paid! Please check your bank account to confirm receipt. On time. Every month. Because your pension matters. That’s the SSNIT Ghana promise,” the Trust stated.
The release of the funds means thousands of pensioners nationwide can access their monthly benefits without having to wait beyond the scheduled payment period.
The development is expected to provide financial relief to beneficiaries, many of whom depend substantially on their monthly pensions for their day-to-day expenses, including food, accommodation, utility bills and healthcare-related needs.
Timely Payment
SSNIT has over the years emphasised the importance of regular and timely payment of pensions as part of its responsibility under Ghana’s social security system.
The August payment, involving hundreds of millions of cedis, underscores the financial obligations associated with the payment of monthly pensions to beneficiaries across the country.
The Trust said the timely disbursement of the August pensions was part of its broader efforts to ensure that pensioners receive their benefits regularly and with minimal inconvenience.
The payment also reinforces SSNIT’s assurance to pensioners that their monthly benefits remain an important priority for the organisation.
Pensioners Urged To Check Accounts
Following the announcement, pensioners have been encouraged to check their respective bank accounts to confirm that their August pensions have been credited.
Beneficiaries who encounter challenges or require clarification regarding their payments have also been advised to make use of SSNIT’s digital platforms and branch offices for assistance.
The Trust continues to encourage pensioners to engage its official channels when seeking information about their pension payments, rather than relying on unverified information.
Commitment To Pensioners
The August disbursement is part of SSNIT’s ongoing responsibility to administer Ghana’s basic national social security scheme and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive their pensions.
With 250,327 pensioners benefiting from the latest payment, the GH¢580.98 million disbursement represents a significant monthly financial commitment by the Trust towards supporting retired workers across the country.
SSNIT has consequently reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining regular pension payments and ensuring that beneficiaries receive their entitlements on time.
For the pensioners, the prompt release of the August benefits is expected to offer some financial security as they continue to depend on their monthly pensions for their livelihood.
The Trust’s message to beneficiaries was clear: August pensions have been paid, and pensioners should check their bank accounts to confirm receipt.
