The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, today joined family, friends, and a host of well-wishers at Assin Fosu for a solemn Thanksgiving Mass held in honour of the late Mr. Clement Kofi Akomeah Sekyi.
The ceremony, marked by reverence and reflection, brought together dignitaries and members of the public to celebrate the life and legacy of a man widely described as humble, dedicated, and deeply committed to both family and community. The late Mr. Sekyi was the father-in-law of Mr. Paul Adjei, Administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).
Delivering his tribute, Dr. Amoakohene expressed profound sympathy to the bereaved family while highlighting the values that defined the life of the deceased. He noted that moments such as these serve not only as occasions of mourning but also as opportunities to reflect on the enduring impact of individuals who lived purposeful and service-driven lives.
“It is in times like these that we are reminded of the importance of legacy—how one’s life, marked by humility, kindness, and service, continues to inspire even in death,” he remarked.
The Thanksgiving Mass was characterized by heartfelt tributes, scripture readings, and hymns that underscored themes of hope, faith, and eternal rest. Speakers at the event described Mr. Sekyi as a pillar within his family and a respected figure in his community, whose quiet strength and generosity touched many lives.
Family members, visibly moved by the outpouring of support, expressed appreciation to all who gathered to honour their departed loved one. They recounted his unwavering commitment to family unity, moral integrity, and community development, noting that his memory would remain a guiding light for generations.
The gathering also reflected the strong bonds between public service and personal relationships, as colleagues and associates of Mr. Paul Adjei stood in solidarity with him and his family during this period of grief.
In a closing message, Dr. Amoakohene extended his heartfelt condolences, praying for strength and comfort for the bereaved family.
“May the soul of the late Mr. Clement Kofi Akomeah Sekyi rest in perfect peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire us all,” he stated.
