As preparations gather momentum toward the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), a renowned journalist with Wontumi Multimedia, Samuel Ofori Boateng, has demonstrated a commendable commitment to education through a generous donation of mathematical sets to the Sir King Foundation at Asante Bekwai.
The donation, which forms part of Mr. Ofori Boateng’s annual philanthropic initiative, is aimed at supporting final-year junior high school students preparing for the crucial national examination. Valued at millions of Ghana cedis, the items are expected to benefit a significant number of candidates, particularly those from underprivileged communities who often face challenges in acquiring essential examination materials.
The gesture underscores a growing recognition of the importance of equitable access to educational resources, especially during critical academic milestones such as the BECE. By providing mathematical sets—an indispensable requirement for candidates—Mr. Ofori Boateng seeks to eliminate barriers that could hinder students’ performance due to lack of basic tools.
At a brief but impactful presentation ceremony held in Asante Bekwai, the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Osei Mensah King Foster, received the items on behalf of the organization. In his remarks, he expressed heartfelt appreciation to the donor for his unwavering support and dedication to the advancement of education in the Ashanti Region.
Mr. King Foster described the donation as both timely and transformative, noting that it would significantly ease the burden on students and their families as they prepare for one of the most important examinations in their academic journey. He further revealed that the foundation has launched a complementary initiative dubbed “One Student, One Mathematical Set,” aimed at ensuring that every BECE candidate under its outreach programmes is adequately equipped.
He emphasized that collaborations with socially responsible individuals like Mr. Ofori Boateng are vital to achieving the foundation’s broader mission of enhancing access to quality education and improving academic outcomes among young learners.

Over the years, Mr. Ofori Boateng has built a reputation not only as a media practitioner but also as a passionate advocate for youth empowerment and community development. His sustained efforts in supporting education have impacted numerous students across the region, reinforcing his belief that investing in young minds is key to national development.

The latest donation is expected to boost the confidence and readiness of beneficiary students, providing them with the necessary tools to approach the 2026 BECE with assurance and determination.

As stakeholders continue to call for greater support for education at all levels, such acts of generosity serve as a powerful reminder of the role individuals and organizations can play in shaping a brighter future for Ghana’s next generation.
