A leading contender for the Asunafo North Constituency Chairmanship of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Kwame Adutwum, popularly known as “Odeefour,” has outlined an ambitious five-point welfare and empowerment agenda aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots base and improving the lives of members.
In a campaign message to party delegates and members, Hon. Adutwum emphasized that the strength of the NDC lies in the commitment, sacrifices, and dedication of its grassroots supporters, pledging to place the welfare of every member at the center of his leadership.
Running on the theme of “Unity, Welfare, Progress and Grassroots Empowerment,” the aspiring chairman outlined key interventions he intends to implement if elected.
The first priority is the establishment of a Grassroots Support Fund, designed to provide assistance to party members facing emergencies, illness, bereavement, and other welfare challenges through a transparent support system.
His second policy focus is Education and Skills Development, which seeks to facilitate scholarships, vocational training opportunities, and capacity-building programmes for the youth and party members to enhance their employability and personal development.
Hon. Adutwum also pledged to champion Employment and Economic Empowerment by connecting members to job opportunities, government interventions, entrepreneurship initiatives, and other economic support programmes.
Recognizing the vital role of women and young people in party growth, he proposed an Inclusive Support Programme for Women and Youth, aimed at promoting active participation, leadership development, and empowerment opportunities within the party structure.
His fifth priority focuses on Care for the Elderly and Vulnerable, with a commitment to ensuring that senior party members, persons living with disabilities, and other vulnerable comrades receive the attention, recognition, and support they deserve.
According to Hon. Adutwum, his vision is to build a stronger, more united and caring NDC in the Asunafo North Constituency where every member feels valued and empowered.
He called on delegates to support his candidature, stressing that collective effort, unity, and a people-centered leadership approach would help build the party members aspire to see.
“Together, we can build the NDC we all dream of,” he stated.
