Guard Public Funds with Discipline – Tourism Minister to New Boards

The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has urged the newly inaugurated governing boards of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to protect the nation’s scarce public resources through disciplined, transparent, and visionary leadership.

Swearing in the Chairperson of the GTA Board, Ms. Phyllis Engmann, and Board Member of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Torgbui Fiti V, the Minister stressed that the success of the two institutions would depend on principled leadership, accountability, and strategic stewardship.

She charged the boards to align their programmes with national development priorities and ensure that every cedi invested delivers tangible value for the Ghanaian people.
Hon. Gomashie further called on the members to uphold integrity, professionalism, and teamwork while strengthening institutional governance and fostering stronger partnerships with key stakeholders in the tourism and culture sectors.

The Minister commended President John Dramani Mahama for the appointments, expressing confidence that the newly constituted boards would play a pivotal role in positioning tourism, culture, and the creative arts as major contributors to Ghana’s economic growth and national development.

Responding on behalf of the Ghana Tourism Authority Board, Ms. Phyllis Engmann pledged the Board’s commitment to building a lasting legacy by implementing innovative strategies that would make Ghana one of Africa’s leading tourism destinations.

Torgbui Fiti V also assured the Minister that the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park Board would work diligently to preserve the legacy of Ghana’s founding President while projecting the country’s rich history and heritage to the world.
