The Kontihene and Kontihemaa of Akokofe in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II and Nana Abena Boahemaa, have announced plans to commemorate their first anniversary on the stool with a fundraising event aimed at supporting community development projects.
The event, scheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 12:00 noon in Akokofe, is expected to bring together divisional authorities, government officials, opinion leaders, indigenes, and friends of the community to celebrate a year of dedicated traditional leadership.
Held under the theme, “Contributing to Community Development Through Traditional Leadership,” the anniversary celebration seeks to mobilize financial support for development initiatives that will improve the living conditions of residents.
According to the organisers, the occasion will not only celebrate the achievements of the traditional leaders over the past year but also provide an opportunity for stakeholders to contribute towards projects that will promote sustainable development in the area.
The leadership of Akokofe has therefore extended an open invitation to individuals, corporate organisations, philanthropists, and well-wishers to attend the programme and support the fundraising exercise.
Residents and friends of the community are expected to use the event to reaffirm their commitment to the growth and development of Akokofe through collective effort and partnership with the traditional authorities.
The celebration is anticipated to feature traditional rites, cultural performances, goodwill messages, and a fundraising session to support identified community projects.
