The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PIWAK Natural Health, producers of 3P Garlic Mixture, Dr Prince Nelson Mortoti, has cautioned Ghanaians against excessive accumulation of fats in the body, warning that it could pose serious health risks if not properly managed.

According to Dr Mortoti, excessive fat, particularly when associated with unhealthy eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle, could increase the risk of a number of health complications and negatively affect the general well-being of individuals.

He therefore urged the public to pay greater attention to their dietary habits, engage in regular physical activities and adopt healthier lifestyles to reduce the risks associated with excessive body fat.
Dr Mortoti gave the advice while speaking on health and wellness, where he underscored the importance of preventive healthcare and the need for individuals to take responsibility for their health before complications set in.
Health Risks
He explained that while the body requires some fat to function properly, excessive amounts could become problematic, particularly when unhealthy fats are consumed in large quantities over time.
He said a diet high in unhealthy fats and calories could contribute to weight gain and other health challenges, especially when coupled with inadequate physical activity.
The PIWAK CEO advised Ghanaians to reduce their intake of foods containing excessive amounts of unhealthy fats and instead consume balanced diets containing vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean protein and other nutritious foods.
He further encouraged people to make physical activity part of their daily routines, stressing that regular exercise could contribute to maintaining a healthy weight and overall well-being.
Preventive Healthcare
Dr Mortoti also called for a stronger focus on preventive healthcare, saying individuals should not wait until they become seriously ill before paying attention to their health.
He encouraged Ghanaians to undertake regular health checks and seek professional medical advice whenever they experienced persistent or unusual symptoms.
According to him, early detection and appropriate medical intervention could help reduce the risk of serious complications.
He also advised people to be cautious about self-medication and unverified health claims, stressing the importance of seeking guidance from qualified healthcare professionals.
Healthy Lifestyle
The PIWAK CEO said maintaining good health required a combination of proper nutrition, physical activity, adequate rest and responsible lifestyle choices.
He urged parents and families to encourage healthy eating habits among children and young people, arguing that developing healthy habits early could contribute to better health outcomes in adulthood.
Dr Mortoti further called on the public to avoid excessive consumption of highly processed and fatty foods and to make informed choices about what they eat.
He said Ghanaians could significantly improve their quality of life by paying attention to their nutrition and adopting healthy lifestyle practices.

He stressed that the responsibility for maintaining good health was not only that of health professionals but also individuals and families.

Dr Mortoti therefore urged Ghanaians to make their health a priority and take practical steps to prevent lifestyle-related health problems.
