A new initiative dubbed ‘Nananom Mmere’, which translates as ‘Time with Chiefs’, is set to be rolled out by Opemsuo Media on Opemsuo Radio 104.7 FM and Opemsuo TV from the Manhyia Palace.
The show will also be streamed live on all Opemsuo Media social media platforms.
Scheduled to air every Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the programme will be anchored by seasoned broadcaster Kwame Awuah Nimfour, the 2017/2018 Ashanti Regional Best Male Akan Newscaster, who boasts over twenty years of experience in the industry.
The show, which will be broadcast entirely in Asante Twi, is designed to project the Asante Kingdom and enlighten the youth on chieftaincy, tradition, and culture.
Each episode will spotlight individual traditional rulers, delving into their personal histories and accomplishments since their enstoolment.
Beyond that, the programme will highlight the immense role chiefs play in societal development, while offering them a platform to outline their vision, attract investors, and rally support from their people.
It will also provide insight into various towns and communities and their traditional leadership structures, while encouraging listeners to contribute ideas towards the preservation and promotion of Asante heritage.
With the maiden edition slated for Sunday, November 1, 2026, anticipation is high among Asantes home and abroad for what is expected to be a groundbreaking radio, TV and social media programme.
The show will also be relayed by Opemsuo Radio’s affiliated community information centres across the Asante Kingdom.
The programme is expected to serve as a valuable resource for students and researchers seeking to enrich and verify their academic work on Asante tradition and culture.
Kudos to Opemsuo Media for taking another bold step to promote the Asante Kingdom through both traditional and digital media.
Opemsuo, yɛresom Asanteman!
