Elijeko Foundation and Patients Safety Movement Foundation have embarked on campaign to help eliminate preventable patient harm and death together in the various health facilities in the society.
Mr. Andrews Kwabena Nyantakyi ,Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Elijeko Foundation, explained that, the two United States of America based organizations have strengthen their partnership with health care providers to discuss current and evidence-based challenges and problems and hope to achieve the audacious but essential goal.
According to him, their aim is to draws attention to the need to focus on patient safety with the hope of eliminating preventable illnesses, harm and death, making public commitment to ZERO patient harm and death.
He disclosed that, Medical errors are a leading cause of death and injury, and for that matter, to practices to ensure a safe patient experience, they look forward to working closely with the Patient Safety Movement continue with their community health and preventive education to ensure patients are knowledgeable on the right questions to ask concerning their health status and treatment when visit health facilities for their health care.
Mr Nyantakyi disclosed that, the leading cause of death and unsafe care contributes to the demise of over three (3) million patients worldwide each year, hence the need to create awareness and educative programmes through interactions with medical professionals across Ghana.
Preventable medical error ranked as a Patient Safety, adding that, the Movement Foundation for collecting and publicizing every organization across the world who is committed to their core mandate to Zero medical errors.
ApostleJones Ofori-Atta, also revealed that, their organizations employs preventive health education, health promotion, and community medical outreach and patients across the globe, while leaders of Elijeko Foundation have stepped up to Commit to Zero medical errors through their community.
