It was more than just a school commissioning—it was a celebration of hope, generosity, and the power of giving back. As the newly constructed CK Kope Primary School opened its doors, the community witnessed not only a new chapter for their children but also the heart behind the project: Torgbui Xornametor, known in private life as Mr. Vincent Kaledzi, Board Chairman of Star Oil.
In his address, Mr Vincent Kaledzi (Torgbui Xornametor) shared the deeply personal moment that inspired him to invest in the community. “When I first visited, it wasn’t the buildings or the land that moved me—it was the children. The way they rushed out with excitement, eager for something better. Their joy and innocence touched my heart and made me determined to do more,” he said, his voice filled with emotion.
A Heart for Humanity, A Vision for Change
For Mr Vincent Kaledzi (Torgbui Xornametor), philanthropy is not about wealth—it’s about responsibility. He believes that giving back should be a natural part of success. “There are people in this country who are wealthy enough to help but do not. I appeal to them: Let’s pay back to society. If we all give a little, the world will be a much better place,” he urged passionately.
But his generosity extends beyond this school. In Nikoto, he built a culvert to connect the community to Lori, ending years of isolation during the rainy season. In other communities, he has supported churches and health projects—acts of compassion guided by the simple belief that everyone deserves dignity and opportunity.
When Tears Turn to Triumph
His journey as a philanthropist has not been without challenges. Recalling a heartbreaking moment, he shared how a church project faced demolition due to building issues. The congregation, who had borrowed money to fund the construction, broke down in tears. “I couldn’t let their dreams collapse with those walls. I told them, ‘We will rebuild.’ Their tears reminded me that giving is not about money—it’s about hope,” he recounted.
More Than a Building—A Symbol of Opportunity
The newly built CK Kope Primary School is not just a structure; it is a symbol of opportunity—a promise that every child, no matter their background, deserves a chance to learn and thrive. The facility is equipped to create a safe and inspiring environment for learning, laying the foundation for future leaders, teachers, and innovators.
A Call to Action for Generational Impact
As he commissioned the school, Torgbui Xornametor emphasized that sustaining the project is a shared responsibility. “This school belongs to the community. Let’s manage it well and keep the standards high. Education is the greatest gift we can give our children, but it requires everyone’s support to make it last,” he said.
He closed with a powerful message about the true essence of giving: “I also have my needs—I am human. But what good is wealth if it does not help others? Let’s build a future where our children grow better than us, where they have opportunities we never had. That is how we create a legacy that lasts.”
Inspiring a Movement of Change
The commissioning ended with a standing ovation for Torgbui Xornametor—not just for his generosity but for his message of hope, compassion, and responsibility. His actions serve as a reminder that true greatness lies in lifting others, and his call for collective giving is one that resonates far beyond CK Kope.
As the children of CK Kope enter their new classrooms, they carry more than books—they carry the hopes of a community and the legacy of a man who chose to give back. And through his example, many more may be inspired to do the same, lighting a path toward a brighter, more compassionate Ghana.
