Majeed Dokurugu, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the Effia Constituency, has fulfilled a key promise by distributing 35,000 exercise books to students across the constituency. This initiative is part of his broader commitment to supporting education through the *Building Opportunities for Sustainable Solutions* (BOSS) program, particularly the DAAKYEPA Educational initiative.
Dokurugu’s distribution of the books comes as a precursor to the promises he intends to fulfill if elected to Parliament. He stated that his primary goal is to ease the financial burden on parents who struggle to provide essential school supplies for their children. “This initiative is to give constituents a preview of what I plan to do once given the nod. Supporting education is key to our development, and I am committed to reducing the cost parents face by providing students with necessary resources,” he said during the distribution.
The DAAKYEPA initiative, under the BOSS program, is designed to enhance the educational experience for students in Effia, ensuring they have access to tools essential for learning. Dokurugu emphasized that this project is part of a larger vision to uplift the constituency through sustainable development solutions.
Parents and community members expressed their appreciation for the initiative, with many noting how the gesture would help reduce their financial stress. “This will really help. Buying exercise books every term is a huge burden for us, and this support is very timely,” a parent remarked.
The exercise book distribution is one of the first of many interventions Majeed Dokurugu plans to implement if he becomes the Member of Parliament for Effia. Through the BOSS program, he aims to tackle various challenges in the constituency, with education being a central focus.
As the 2024 general election approaches, initiatives like these are setting Dokurugu apart as a candidate with a clear plan for the development of Effia, with a strong emphasis on supporting both students and their families.
The event has sparked hope and optimism among constituents, who look forward to more impactful interventions under the DAAKYEPA Educational initiative and the broader BOSS agenda.
