The Aboabogya Development Association, a group of citizens of Aboabogya residing in the diaspora, has donated assorted learning materials to the Aboabogya Methodist Primary School in the Ashanti Region.
The donation, which forms part of the association’s efforts to support quality teaching and learning in the community, included exercise books, pens, erasers and other educational materials for distribution to pupils of the school.
Presenting the items to the school, the Chairperson of the Aboabogya Development Association, Madam Adwoa Amankwaa, explained that the gesture was aimed at complementing the efforts of teachers and parents in providing the basic materials needed by pupils for effective learning.
She said the association remained committed to contributing to the development of Aboabogya and, particularly, supporting initiatives that would improve the educational prospects of children in the community.
Madam Adwoa Amankwaa noted that access to basic learning materials was important in helping pupils participate fully in classroom activities and encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items.
She urged the pupils to take their education seriously and strive for academic excellence so that they could grow into responsible citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to the development of their community and the country.

The presentation was also graced by Oheneyere Nana Brango Domfe of Aboabogya, who commended the Aboabogya Development Association for the initiative.
She described the donation as a commendable contribution towards the development of education in the community and encouraged other individuals and groups from Aboabogya, both at home and abroad, to emulate the association’s example.
According to her, community development required collective effort, with education serving as one of the most important areas that deserved sustained support.
She expressed the hope that the gesture would motivate the pupils to work harder academically while encouraging teachers to continue providing the necessary guidance and support.
School’s Response
The Headteacher of Aboabogya Methodist Primary School, Mr Augustine Antwi Boasiako, who received the items on behalf of the school, expressed appreciation to the association for the timely intervention.
He said the learning materials would be distributed to pupils who needed them and would contribute to improving teaching and learning at the school.
Mr Boasiako assured the donors that the school would ensure that the materials were put to good use.
He further pledged the commitment of the school authorities and teachers to supporting the pupils to develop good educational practices and improve their academic performance.
He appealed to other individuals, organisations and community groups to support the school with additional educational resources to create a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
The donation forms part of broader community-based efforts by citizens of Aboabogya to contribute to the development of their hometown, particularly in the area of education.
The school authorities expressed their gratitude to the Aboabogya Development Association for remembering the school and investing in the educational development of the pupils.
