The first – ever West African legends tour competition 2024 will be held at the Achimota Golf Club here in Ghana.
To revitalize golf as a recreational, development, and commercial sport in Ghana, the West Legends Tour 2024, an international golf tournament will be hosted come next year.
As part of the tournament’s preparation, a media sensitization campaign was launched at the Achimota Golf Club to promote the upcoming event.
The event is being organized in collaboration with the European Legends Tour, Ghana Golf Association, Achimota Golf Club, and Ghana Tourism Authority.
The Legends Tour is a renowned global organization that hosts events for the most recognizable that hosts events for the recognizable names in the sport sector.
In his address at the media sensitization, the President of the Achimota Golf Club, Mr. Frank Adu Junior expressed gratitude and excitement for the upcoming tournament which is set to be held at the Achimota Golf Club.
“The legends tour is something that is noble to us at Achimota and I’m very grateful to Legends tour for choosing Achimota out of the many golf clubs in Ghana to hold the first West African legends tour competition,” he said.
Mr. Mark Coffie, President of the Professional Golfers Association of Ghana speaking at the Legends tour media sensitization launch said, This is an amazing opportunity and what we as an organization are trying to do is to improve golf and to bring the youth into the game and to take golf in our country Ghana to the world by bringing international golf to Ghana.
He continued that this is a multipurpose and multitasking platform that we can all benefit from.The Legends Tour coming to Ghana is unprecedented and hosting in Achimota Golf Club and the fact that Achimota golf club was redesigned and it is a great opportunity and from the point of view of generating business and awareness and more interest in golf, we have an amazing opportunity where we should all come together to support this event…..Story by Bugbila Moadow.
