Ahafo Ano South West DCE Commends Workers’ Dedication on May Day

The District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, has extended warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to workers across the district in celebration of International Workers’ Day.

In a May Day message issued by the District Assembly, Hon. Sedik commended the dedication, resilience, and selfless service of staff, describing them as the backbone of the district’s development and progress.
“On this special occasion of May Day, I extend my deepest appreciation to each and every one of you—our hardworking and committed workforce,” he stated. “Your tireless efforts and unwavering loyalty continue to drive the growth of our district and bring our development vision to life.”
He acknowledged the critical roles played by workers both in offices and in the field, emphasizing that their collective contributions have led to tangible improvements in the lives of residents across communities.
Hon. Sedik further noted that May Day is not only a celebration of work but also a recognition of the dignity of labour and the essential role workers play in nation-building. He called for renewed unity, focus, and motivation among staff to sustain progress and uphold values of integrity, innovation, and compassion in service delivery.

The DCE also encouraged workers to continue fostering teamwork, mutual respect, and excellence in their duties to accelerate development in the district.

“On behalf of the Assembly, I say a big thank you. You are seen, you are valued, and you are celebrated,” he affirmed.

He concluded his message with a rallying call: “Long live the workers! Long live our District!”
International Workers’ Day, marked annually on May 1, celebrates the contributions of workers and highlights the importance of fair labour practices and improved working conditions.
