The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, has launched an aggressive drive to attract both local and foreign investors into the district, assuring prospective investors of the availability of litigation-free lands and the Assembly’s unwavering commitment to facilitating investment.

According to the DCE, Ahafo Ano South West possesses enormous untapped economic potential across several sectors, including agriculture, real estate, healthcare, education and commerce, making it one of the most promising investment destinations in the Ashanti Region.

Hon. Sedik made the call during a stakeholder engagement, where he outlined the Assembly’s vision of transforming the district into a vibrant economic hub through private sector participation and strategic investments.

He stressed that the District Assembly has put in place measures to create a business-friendly environment that guarantees investors peace of mind and smooth acquisition of land for development projects.

One of the major investment opportunities, he noted, is the growing demand for housing within the district, urging real estate developers and estate companies to establish residential facilities to bridge the accommodation gap.
According to him, the district continues to witness an increasing influx of public sector workers, teachers, health professionals and other government employees who commute daily from Kumasi and neighbouring communities because of the acute shortage of decent rental accommodation.
He explained that the housing deficit presents a lucrative investment opportunity capable of generating substantial returns while supporting the district’s socio-economic development.
“We have litigation-free lands readily available for investment, and the Assembly is prepared to support genuine investors through all the necessary processes. I particularly want to encourage real estate companies to come to Ahafo Ano South West because the demand for housing is very high. Many people travel from Kumasi every day to work here simply because they cannot find suitable places to rent,” Hon. Sedik stated.
The DCE further assured investors that the Assembly would continue to provide the necessary institutional support to ensure that investment processes are transparent, efficient and free from unnecessary bureaucratic bottlenecks.
He observed that beyond the real estate sector, the district also offers significant investment prospects in commercial agriculture, agro-processing, healthcare delivery, educational infrastructure and other emerging business ventures.
Hon. Sedik expressed optimism that with its strategic location, peaceful atmosphere, fertile lands and readily available litigation-free lands, Ahafo Ano South West has all the ingredients needed to become a preferred destination for both domestic and international investors.
He reiterated the Assembly’s readiness to collaborate with private investors whose projects would create employment opportunities, stimulate local economic growth and improve the living standards of residents.

The DCE therefore appealed to investors to seize the numerous opportunities available in the district, assuring them of the Assembly’s commitment to providing an enabling environment that promotes sustainable business growth and long-term development.

He expressed confidence that increased private sector participation would accelerate infrastructure development, expand the district’s economic base and contribute significantly to the government’s broader agenda of promoting inclusive local economic development across the country.
