The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South, Hon. Daniel Dagba, has personally donated two brand-new Haojue motorbikes to the Works Department and the Physical Planning Department of the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen service delivery across the municipality.
The donation, financed entirely from the MCE’s personal resources, forms part of his broader commitment to building institutional capacity and ensuring that development initiatives effectively reach communities within the municipality.
Presenting the motorbikes, Hon. Dagba explained that the intervention had become necessary due to logistical challenges confronting the Assembly, particularly after the confiscation of four official vehicles belonging to the Municipal Assembly by authorities at Sogakope Senior High School in 2019.
He noted that the loss of these vehicles significantly affected the operations of key departments, including those responsible for monitoring infrastructure projects and enforcing planning regulations.
According to the MCE, inadequate transportation and logistics have, in recent years, hindered the ability of technical departments to effectively supervise, inspect, and implement development projects across the municipality.
“This intervention is aimed at augmenting service delivery and ensuring that our departments are adequately equipped to discharge their responsibilities efficiently,” Hon. Dagba stated.
He further reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving working conditions for public servants within the Assembly, stressing that providing essential tools and resources remains critical to accelerating local development and improving the livelihoods of residents.
Officials from the beneficiary departments expressed profound appreciation to the MCE for what they described as a timely and selfless gesture. They noted that the motorbikes will greatly enhance their ability to undertake field assignments, monitor ongoing projects, and respond promptly to departmental duties.
The donation is part of ongoing efforts by the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly to strengthen governance, improve public service delivery, and promote sustainable development throughout the municipality.
