The Banmuhene noted that is an ideal choice for John Dramani Mahama’s vice-presidential candidate.

‘He is incorruptible and as clean as communion. As a cadre, Oppong Fosu, is more experienced coupled with the qualities of humility, respectful and dedication”, the Chief emphasized.

He said ,the endorsement of Akwasi Oppong Fosu, Mahama will benefit immensely from Oppong Fosu’s experience, credibility, and potential appeal in the specified strongholds of the Ashanti Region.

This strategic recommendation aims to optimize the potential of securing additional votes, as well as fostering a sense of trust and confidence among voters in the critical regions.

In a recent engagement with the Media in Kumasi, Nana Kusi Ampofo II, a cadre, advised the former President to carefully select a vice-presidential candidate capable of significantly boosting his electoral fortunes.

He emphasized the strategic importance of these regions and advised the NDC flagbearer to consider selecting a vice-presidential candidate from the Ashanti to win more votes of the Ashantis.

The traditional leader suggested that such a choice could potentially strengthen Mahama’s electoral prospects by solidifying support in key areas in the Ashanti Region and fostering a more inclusive representation in the political landscape.

The proponent stressed that opting for a vice-presidential candidate from the Ashanti Region will not only enhance John Dramani Mahama’s electoral chances but also add a crucial layer of credibility to his campaign.

“By selecting a running mate from the Ashanti Region”, which he said is crucial, “Mahama has the opportunity to underscore his commitment to diverse representation and bridge the political divide, potentially resonating with a broader spectrum of voters”.

Hon Oppong Fosu is from Trede,a community in the Atwima Kwanwoma District in the Ashanti Region and also has his patrimonial route in Wasa Afransie near Wasa Akropong in the Western Region.
