Antoakrom Community Gets New Market , Residents Heap Praises On Assembly Member

It was exciting moment and  merrymaking when  the good people of Antoakrom in Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region  trooped in their numbers to witness the official commissioning of the ultramodern market facility which was abandoned since 2020.

The 72 market stalls project financed by the Amansie West District Assembly was abandoned some years ago because of the deadly covid-19 pandemic.

The colourful event which brought together many prominent people in the area including the delegation from the Amansie West District Assembly, traditional rulers and the hardworking assembly member together with his unit committee.

The Assembly member of Antoakrom electoral area Hon. Michael Amankwaa was hailed by the market women for his contributions toward the completion of the project.

Addressing the gathering at a colourful ceremony, the assembly member of Antoakrom electoral area ,Hon.Michael Amankwaa expressed his excitement about the completion of the project indicating that the project which is commissioning today has begun the success of the good people of Antoakrom.

He said, the project will help to promote the economic stability in the area.

He however commended the District Assembly headed by the District Chief Executive Hon. Nii Lartey Ollenu for giving them this magnificent projects.

Hon. Michael Amankwaa in conclusion also showered praises on traditional leaders in the area and it adjoining communities for their contributions toward the completion of the project.

On the other hand ,the Chief of Antoakrom traditional area, Nana Okyere Darko Ampem ll advised traders to make good use of the market facility and to ensure sanity in the market

Nana Okyere Darko Ampem also used the opportunity and called on the government to come and complete the abandoned public toilet which was started by his administration but has not seen completion due to lack of funds.

He was of the view that the acquisition of the new market coupled with it adverse effects will led to insanity in the area for the lack of toilet facilities as traders who may ply their trade will find it difficult to access nature’s call.

“All our roads are in deplorable state and if our roads are not fixed the project can never achieve it intended purpose so we are begging the government to fix the roads for us.”He further indicated.
