The Appeal court has today, January 15, 2025, accepted the National Democratic Congress (NDC) security for a cost petition regarding the contentious constituencies in the Ashanti Region.
This development comes after the NDC filed a notice of appeal challenging the Electoral Commission’s decision on the three disputed constituency results in the region.

The three constituencies are the Ahafo Ano North, Ahafo Ano South West and Obuasi East where the EC had re-collated without the presence of the party and the other two constituencies which have Members of Parliament even without the EC’s declaration of results.

As a result, the party has paid an amount of GHS40,000 each for the three constituencies for the commencement of the case.

Lawyer Evans Amankwaa, Counsel for the party on filing the petition, urged NDC supporters to remain calm as the leadership of the party is working around the clock to ensure justice.
