Mutala Mohammed, aide to the Ashanti Regional Organizer of the NDC, has categorically stated his disagreement with concerns raised about DCOP Frank Abrokwah’s appointment as Deputy Director General of CID.

Speaking to the media today he was of the view that although it is true that DCOP Abrokwah was transferred from his position as Ashanti Regional Police Commander, it cannot be assumed that this transfer was a direct response to the chaos that occurred during the recent Council of State election.

“Therefore, it would be unfair to assume that DCOP Abrokwah is incompetent. As a trained lawyer, he has demonstrated meticulousness in his duties. The IGP’s decision to appoint DCOP Abrokwah as Deputy Director General of CID suggests that he possesses the necessary skills and experience for the role.

Furthermore, the Ghana Police Service has undergone a significant reshuffle, with several new appointments aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

Rather than jumping to conclusions based on a single past incident, we should give DCOP Abrokwah the opportunity to prove himself in his new role.

Notably, DCOP Abrokwah supervised the general elections and oversaw various security operations that have ensured the safety of the people of Ashanti.

It is also essential to recognize that leadership changes can bring fresh perspectives and new ideas, ultimately benefiting the Ghana Police Service and the country as a whole.”He noted.
