Ashtown Wins Napo-Tomtom Community Gala 2022

Ashtown community team,one of the eight teams who took part in the just ended NAPO-TOMTOM community Gala
at the plush-looking Konadu Yiadom School Park in the Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region has won the ultimate trophy.
The tournament  started  from last  Friday morning and ended at Monday 18th April,2022 in the evening.
The mega football gala was to  celebrate the Easter festivities, with mouthwatering prizes.
The  community Gala was to  thrill residents of Manhyia South Constituency.
The four-day football fiesta was  organized by the MP for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, who doubles as the Minister of Energy.
The event was also  made possible following the support of Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori-Atta aka ‘TomTom’, a hot favourite to win the Manhyia South NPP chairmanship position.
In all, eight teams from the Manhyia South Constituency  locked  horns for supremacy during the tournament, which was set to produce exciting football duels.
The participating teams included Ash Town, Abbey’s Park, Alla-bar, Manhyia Proper, Krofrom, Dichemso, C.P.C and Mbrom/K.O. of which all the teams paraded top footballers.
Each participating team  took  home a participation fee. Also, the four lucky teams who qualified to the semi-finals  received brand new set of jerseys each as their reward.
The overall winner of the tournament (Ashtown community team) took  home a giant trophy and a juicy financial package for their efforts. The first and second runner-ups  also received a cash prize.
Meanwhile, on the Monday evening, two teams, dubbed ‘Napo Eleven’ and ‘TomTom Eleven’  locked horns as a curtain-raiser before the grand final to entertain the football lovers present of which NAPO Eleven won on penalties .
 Both Napo and Tomtom were seen at the Konadu Yiadom School park to throw their support to  their respective teams to help make the historic tournament more exciting and a memorable one.
Speaking to the media after the game,Napo made it clear that, he has seen great talents in the youth of Manhyia South as far as the game football is concerned.
Adding,he is set to set up a football academy to help nurture footballers in the constituency.
Again,the MP is set to construct more artificial Astroturfs to serve the purpose of producing young and energetic footballers in the area.
According to him,the second phase of the Konadu Yiadom School park is yet to start which would be furnished with stands and other modern facilities to make the pitch a FIFA standard.
