The work of Professor Peter Twumasi as Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA) is becoming too difficult for him as an unseen hand is alleged to working against him.
According to sources at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, there is a simmering misunderstanding between the NSA Chair and the Chief Director at the ministry, Hafis Adam.
It will be recalled that, the appointment of Professor Peter Twumasi by then Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah faced resistance from some individuals in government and in ministry who claimed to have worked for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in opposition.
Information gathered so far has that, the current Minister, Hon. Mustapha Ussif has done little to solve power play at the ministry.
“Hon. Mustapha Ussif has taken sides of the matter and some of us are suspecting him to be working against Prof. ….Recently, the Minister and the Chief Director were all fighting Professor Twumasi over funds and our opinion is that, because Mr. Twumasi is from a different tribe, they want to push him from the NSA post”, sources told this reporter.
Our source also alleged, recently, there was a heated debate between Professor Peter Twumasi and Mr. Hafis Adams ahead of Black Stars qualifying for Quater 2022 during one of their meetings resulting in near fisticuffs.
“All happened in the presence of Hon. Mustapha Ussif but we didn’t hear him utter a word and trying to separate them”.
