An aspiring NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Berekum West, Lawyer Barima-Agyekum Hinneh, has underscored the need for supporters of the main opposition party to eschew all forms of divisiveness and remain united to ensure a resounding electoral victory for the NDC in next year’s general election.

He said even though, the current economic hardships being faced by Ghanaians coupled with the lack of leadership by President Akufo-Addo and the NPP provide a solid basis for the NDC to unseat the NPP in the next election, the victory would not come on a silver platter.

“We need to work harder than before, especially at the grassroots level and effectively sell our campaign messages devoid of any insults and personal attacks, and focus mainly on prosecuting the John Mahama agenda of restoring hope to the ordinary Ghanaian”, he said.

Speaking to the media in Sunyani, Lawyer Barima-Agyekum Hinneh, noted that one major issue that would also be extremely necessary to secure a massive victory for the NDC is to resource the various constituencies in cash and in kind to facilitate campaign activities.

“One of the things I will seek to do when elected as the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Berekum West is to ensure that the party’s campaign machinery is well resourced to perform its expected functions”, he explained.

According to him, he stands a better chance of annexing the Berekum West seat from the NPP in the next election due to the way he has endeared himself to be people of the constituency over the years.

Lawyer Barima-Agyekum Hinneh, also called Barimah One, said he will work hard with all the executives in a way that would attract floating voters as well as members of the NPP fraternity to vote for the NDC and capture the seat for the first time if he becomes the Parliamentary Candidate.

He therefore called on the delegates to support him in his bid to bring the much-needed electoral victory to the party in the next elections.

The astute lawyer with about ten years at the bar refuted rumours that he will succumb to any pressure from any quarters to step down for Dickson Kyere-Duah, to go unopposed for the third time.

According to him, what he has rather gathered is that the incumbent NPP MP for the area, Mr. Kwaku Agyenim-Boateng, popularly known as Agogo, is reported to have said that he (Agogo) is likely to stop running again as the MP for the area if the NDC elects him (Lawyer Barima-Agyekum Hinneh) as their parliamentary candidate owing to some intelligence gathered on the ground.

A lot of the youth of the area fed up with Agogo but are worried about the fact that he easily walks over the NDC candidate in the last two elections and so they have vowed to go all out to ensure that I take up the mantle and win the Berekum West seat for the NDC for the first time.

Commenting on the Limited Registration Exercise, Lawyer Barima-Agyekum Hinneh, called on all qualified persons to take advantage of the exercise to register in order to participate in the various elections to be organised in the country.

He also said the Gh.c 40,000.00 filing fee being charged by the party should be accepted by all aspirants as it would help raise money for the organisation of the upcoming primaries as well as various campaign activities.
