Fibroids…
Fibroids are like rounded bumps that grow overtime in a woman’s body. They are non-cancerous but are made up of fibrous and muscle tissue. These tumours can lead to heavy periods and abdominal pain.

Factors that can trigger fibroids:
The main cause of fibroids is not known but there are certain factors that can trigger them.

Genetics: If there is history of your grandmother, mother, aunties with this condition, it is possible for you to also have fibroid.
Hormones: A woman’s ovaries produce estrogen and progesterone — it can cause the uterine lining to revitalise and incite the growth of fibroids.
Obesity: When you’re overweight, your chances of getting a fibroid is high.
Age: If you’re between the ages of 30 to 50, you’re still at risk.
Diet: Alcohol and deficiency in vitamin D can stimulate fibroids.
Natural ways to prevent fibroids
When you already find out you have fibroids, it is only your doctor that can determine how you would get treated. These natural ways are helpful but might not be sufficient for you if your condition has progressed beyond its capacity.

1. Regular exercise
If you’re not the type that loves to exercise; be it jogging, walking or going to the gym, you need to change so that you can help yourself resist any form of getting fibroids. Regular exercise is a way of keeping fit to maintain a healthy weight.

2. Eating healthy
As a lady, you have to be conscious of the nutritional value of what you eat. If you do not care before; this is the time to change. Unhealthy consumption like taking excess soda, salt, packaged and processed foods are threats to your wellbeing; hence stay healthy.

Consume fruits and vegetables as much as possible for it to help with inflammation and the risk of getting uterine myomas. In addition, dairy products can also help because they contain phosphorus, magnesium and calcium.

3. Green tea
This type of tea has antioxidants called flavonoids that can reduce stress and cell damage. Basically, it can suppress severe symptoms of fibroids and reduce the size.

4. Use Vitamins
The symptoms associated with fibroids tend to get intense during menstruation, but with the intake of vitamins such as B1, B6, D and E, it can be reduced.

5. Don’t take alcohol
If you’re concerned about developing fibroids, you must stop taking alcohol because it can raise hormone levels and increase inflammation. All these are ways uterus fibroids can emanate and even enlarge existing ones.
