In a significant display of interfaith unity and commitment to the well-being of Ghana, the Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, has held a crucial meeting with the Ashanti Regional Council of Churches, the Christian Council, and leaders from the Muslim community.
The meeting aimed to affirm Kumasi’s collective commitment to seeking divine intervention for the nation as part of the upcoming National Day of Prayer on July 1,2025.
The meeting, which was attended by prominent religious leaders, including Rev. Dr. Douglas Okumah Frimpong of the Kumasi Central Church Council (KCCC) and Ustoz Burnham Deen Babalwaiz of the Muslim faith, marked a significant step towards fostering greater unity and cooperation among the city’s faith communities. During the meeting, it was agreed that the Christian service would be held at the Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC), while the Muslim community would gather for prayers at the Kumasi Central Mosque. Both prayer services will take place on the same day, Tuesday, 1st July 2025.
Preparations are currently underway to ensure that the National Day of Prayer is a solemn and memorable event that will unite faiths under one purpose – to pray for the peace, prosperity, and moral direction of Ghana. The Mayor’s initiative is a testament to the city’s commitment to spiritual values and its recognition of the importance of divine guidance in governance.
