Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh Donates Medical Equipment and Playroom Items to Patients at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital

Former Energy Minister and 2024 Running Mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,
Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has donated a wide range of medical equipment and children’s playroom items to support healthcare delivery at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

The donation was made in celebration of his 58th birthday and is aimed at improving patient care and enhancing child-friendly healthcare services at the facility.

These included essential medical devices for various wards like( B3,B4 ,B5 ,C5 ),as well as educational and recreational materials for children receiving treatment at the hospital.

Among the items donated were glucometers, thermometers, pulse oximeters, oxygen cylinders, cardiac monitors, perfusers, nebulizers, pediatric blood pressure monitors, suction machines, drip stands, instruments such as gallipots and kidney dishes, plastic chairs, and other critical healthcare accessories.

In addition to the medical supplies, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh also donated several playroom materials to support the emotional and psychological well-being of children on admission.

These included kids’ tablets, colouring books, crayons, balls, water play toys, Lego sets, building blocks, story books, toy cars, and colourful reading books.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh reaffirmed his commitment to supporting quality healthcare delivery and improving the welfare of patients, particularly children receiving treatment at the hospital.

He noted that healthcare institutions continue to play a vital role in national development and therefore require collective support from individuals, organisations, and stakeholders to function effectively.

According to him, creating a child-friendly environment within hospitals is important in helping young patients remain hopeful and emotionally stable during treatment and recovery.
Management and staff of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital expressed appreciation for the gesture and described the donation as timely and impactful, noting that the items would significantly contribute to quality healthcare delivery and patient comfort.

The gesture forms part of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s continuous efforts to support health institutions and improve healthcare services across the country.
